As we discussed on Kotaku, only takes a few months with the two new medleys from Sony and Nintendo, called PSP and Nintendo DSi Go XL. However, they start rumors about the new generation of portable consoles.
Indeed these two major manufacturers will have to launch something new and really innovative in coming months. Something different to recent developments that really attract new users and buyers. And what has been leaked by now that, according to Digital Foundry is fully reliable, sounds great.
We talk about the NVIDIA Tegra 2 for the Nintendo DS 2 chip and a little known but very powerful supposedly on the PSP 2. More specifically, for Sony would be the SGX543 IMG OMAP5 platform based on Texas Instruments, which has not been released yet (will arrive by OMAP4). And yes, Texas Instruments are well-known company calculators and yes, manufacture and develop processes for certain platforms for years.
About NVIDIA Tegra 2, the last thing we talked about is about a revolution in the way of power management and portable devices. As for me I find it more difficult to understand is, if we do not have the Tegra 1 more than in some very specific devices (the Zune HD, for example), it really is about Tegra 2?
I remember once more that these are all speculating about devices that neither company has confirmed. They say from Digital Foundry’s all true and real will for a while. What do you think? Do you believe? I prefer to keep a little waiting.
Note: The two images in this entry are only two designs that appeared on the network are long, long time. They are not intended as final product images.
